Great West Fitness and Tennis Club has always been committed to providing a superior experience to its gym and tennis members. We want to assure our members and clients that they will be welcomed to a cleaner and more sanitized club amidst the current COVID-19 pandemic situation.

 

We are doing our part as a club by following the changes and recommendations from the provincial and federal governments. We are also implementing stricter cleaning procedures and are regularly updating them for the utmost safety of our valued members and staff.

 

In these challenging times, we are not only working rigorously to meet your expectations, but also to exceed them. We are doing our utmost to provide a healthy and hygienic environment. We have put some restrictions and new policies in place, and these will be regularly updated to keep pace with the evolving COVID-19 situation. We ask all our members, guests and clients to do their part by following our set policies and procedures. 

 

We are grateful for your ongoing support while we do our part to help flatten the curve.

 

Gym Policies

  • We ask you not to come to the gym if you:

    • Exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms, such as fever, sore throat, cough, difficulty in breathing, or other symptoms identified by health experts.

    • Have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

    • Have been out of the country in the last 14 days. 

  • Business Hours:     Mon to Sat – 5 AM to 9 PM;    Sun – 7 AM to 7 PM 

  • Childcare Hours:    Mon to Fri – 8 AM to 12 PM

  • We will only be letting in 50 people in the facility at one time.

  • Members will need to book time slots through our InChargeLife app (once it is ready to use), until then, members can call after 6 AM to check the availability.

  • Members are requested to come in one at a time, stand behind the plexiglass screen while they check-in, and make sure to sanitize their hands with the sanitizers provided at the front desk. 

  • Members need to maintain a physical distance of 2 meters in the club.  

  • Members will only be able to work out for 1 hour and cannot book more than one time slot.

  • There will be no lock and towel service. Members are encouraged to bring their own towels. Lockers will not be available for use, and we will not be holding car keys.

  • Showers, saunas, and tanning will not be available for use, and the equipment will be limited. 

  • A maximum of 2 people allowed in the washroom at one time.

  • The water dispensers will not be available for use and so the members can either bring their own water bottles or purchase one at the front desk.  

  • Exercise mats, weight belts, TRX cables and resistance bands will not be available for use. Feel free to bring your own to use. 

  • Anything in CO-ED and ladies only with caution tape cannot be used. 

  • Our staff reserves the right to turn away any member, guest, or client who shows COVID-19 related symptoms or who doesn’t comply with physical distancing and club policies.

  • Physical distancing restrictions apply to all members, guests or clients, whether they are residing in the same house or not. We strongly advise that you do not work out in groups.

  • Sanitizing stations are provided at different locations on all the floors, and the members are advised to make use of them before and after they use the equipment(s). 

Tennis Policies

       The following must be followed in addition to the above-mentioned policies:

 

 Before playing:

  • Sanitize & wash your hands with soap for 20 seconds prior to going to the club.

  • Do not show up at the club more than 10 minutes before your court start time.

  • Do not walk in pairs or doubles groups to your tennis court. Proceed to tennis courts individually. Always maintain a social distancing of 2 meters at the club.

  • Only one person allowed at a time in the air sealed bubble room (Bubble Entrance Room). Lines are placed on the floor to indicate where to stand and wait to maintain proper social distancing at the bubble entrance and throughout the club.

  • There will be a 30-minute time gap after every court booking. During this time, the staff will clean & sanitize doors, handles, and other surfaces. This sanitizing period will also serve as a buffer to avoid an overlap of tennis members coming and going. No one is permitted on the courts during this time. 

  • Avoid using washrooms if possible.

  • Avoid touching door handles, gates benches and all other objects where the virus could survive. If you touch something, make sure to wash & sanitize your hands. Additional spray bottle hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the club and on the tennis courts.

  • A social gathering at the club is not permitted.

  • Please try to bring your own hand sanitizer.

  • Change room lockers & kitchen will not be available.

 

While Playing:

  • Always maintain a physical distance of 2 meters with other players, including your partner.

  • Do not touch and or pick up tennis balls of other players—every player must use their own tennis balls. Use distinct numbers on tennis balls or identify your balls using a marker. 

  • No physical contact with other players of any kind.

  • No handshaking allowed. 

  • Do not switch sides after games.

  • Avoid touching your face after touching the ball, racquet or when passing the ball to another player.

  • Role balls back to other players using your racket do not use your hands. Do not touch other players’ tennis balls.

  • Consider wearing gloves and masks at the club.

  • Do not share or touch tennis equipment(s) with your partner or anyone else.

  • Benches inside & outside the bubble, and in the club, are currently unavailable for use following the health regulations. 

 

After Playing:

  • Sanitize and wash your hands with soap after play.

  • Leave the court right away after play. Do not overplay your time.

  • Avoid leaving in pairs or doubles groups. Leave the courts & the club individually.
